Who's behind this
Hi, I'm Matt.
I'm building this.
On my own, from Honolulu. No team, no HR department, no employer customers.

Why
The thing that decides how you do at work is almost never on your CV.
I spent a long time in management consulting and then inside big companies. Before that I did a doctorate on what makes organizations successful. Years of theory, then a lot more years of watching it up close.
What I kept seeing: whether someone does well comes down to how they come across. Whether people like working with them. Whether they fit where they've landed. The blunt one who never takes a break is a star on an M&A desk and a problem in a normal corporate team. Same person, different room.
Nobody gets told this. You find out by accident, usually late, usually from someone being kind after a drink.
CrewClimb is my attempt to make it not an accident. Start with the people who've actually worked with you. See what they see. Later, see what a place is like before you walk in, from the people who've been there. Your side of the table, always.
What I believe
-
Everyone has a strength the people around them can see.
Often, it's the thing that feels ordinary to you. Blindspots helps you see what your crew values in it.
-
Your profile is yours. Full stop.
Trust is the product. So:
- No company accounts. No employer views.
- Employers can’t buy, request or see your profile.
- Your data isn't for sale.
- A boss who wants a profile signs up like everyone else.
-
Same person, different room.
There's no universal "good at work." There's you, and there's the place. Most career advice ignores the second half.
-
It should keep moving.
New job, new boss, new crew. A profile that's done once in a PDF is already out of date. Ask again.
Before this
Management consulting, then corporate leadership roles. A doctorate on what makes organizations successful. I've spent years studying organizations and working inside them.
I'm not an engineer. I build CrewClimb with AI tools and a lot of stubbornness. If something's broken, it was me. Tell me.
Where it's going
Blindspots is where it starts.
Starting with Blindspots
You.
What you're good at, as the people who've worked with you see it. Workstyles will add how you like to work.
Planned
The places.
What working somewhere is actually like: the boss, the team, the culture. From people who've been there.
Later
The fit.
You and a boss. You and a team. You and a company. Where it would work, and where it might rub.
Curious what your crew would say? Blindspots is the place to find out.
